La Napoule Art Foundation presented Murmures du Château, my new immersive sound work, at the Château de La Napoule on July 19, 2026.
The 57-minute piece was created from more than twelve hours of field recordings made in and around the Château — footsteps and voices echoing through its rooms, doors, birdsong, passing trains, the nearby beaches and the constant presence of the Mediterranean Sea. Recorded with an ambisonic microphone that captures sound in 360 degrees, it recreates the full depth and spatial dimension of these sound environments through headphones.
Developed over three residencies at the Château between November 2024 and February 2026, Murmures du Château remains available for visitors to experience freely through headphones inside the Château during regular opening hours.
