"Two New Hours" Review

"Shawn Pinchbeck is a young composer from Edmonton. I ran into him in September in Banff and he had a brand new CD, hot off the presses. It's a collaboration between Shawn and composer/preformer Marion Garver. This album is a delight to the eye as well as to the ear. It's a gorgeous package. Instead of the usual jewel box, it's in a multi-fold cardboard sort of thing with a string closure. But that doesn't mean it's cheaply done -- quite the opposite. Just the layout and printing must have cost a lot of time and money. But the result is worth it. It's eye-catching and very innovative.

The album is called Resonance. From it, here's a piece called Spirit and Flesh by Shawn Pinchbeck.
